Summary

Machine-generated summary

The German Centre for Rail Traffic Research (DZSF) is commissioning a research project on diesel engine emissions from emergency services vehicles in railway tunnels. Under the two-tube principle of the EBA tunnel guideline, rescue vehicles in an event such as a fire enter the unaffected tube. These vehicles are almost exclusively diesel powered, while electrified railway tunnels, unlike road tunnels, have no exhaust removal systems. During planning approval procedures, external emergency services object that diesel exhaust could prevent prolonged stays in the tunnel. The project is to determine and assess diesel engine emissions, taking into account the natural air flows that usually exist in rail tunnels and their effect on pollutant levels depending on different tunnel geometries.

Description

Expected award price

likely award for this notice, from its published estimate of €294,151
€279,444 to €294,151

Comparable awards in this country and sector came in at a median of 99% of their published estimate, half of them between 95% and 100%, based on 63 awards of the last 3 years.

Each award is compared with the estimate of the same lots, framework agreements excluded. A published estimate may include options and renewals, so an award under it is not always a discount.
