What Aperlena is

Aperlena is a free, multilingual search engine for European public procurement, with tender notices from 159 official sources in 40 countries. It brings the EU-level TED, national and regional platforms and the calls for tenders of the EU institutions themselves into one place, in six languages. Instead of checking a dozen portals in a dozen formats, you run one search.

What we add to the official data

Every notice is normalized into a single structure: values are converted to euros using ECB reference rates, deadlines are unified, CPV sector codes are cleaned, and buyers and winning companies are matched across sources into browsable profiles. Open notices, whatever their language, receive machine-assisted summaries in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Polish, and contract award notices receive them as our summarising reaches them. On every tender page you will also find market context computed from our whole dataset - how the value compares to the sector average, the buyer's track record, and similar tenders open right now - analysis no single official portal can offer.

Where the data comes from

All data originates from official public-procurement publications, accessed through their documented open-data channels and APIs. The full list of sources with their licences is published in our legal notice. The index is updated several times a day. Each source is read on its own schedule, set by how often it publishes: most of them several times a day, the others daily, and one quarterly dataset once a month. Each tender page names its source and deep-links to the official notice.

What Aperlena is not

Aperlena is a discovery service, not an official register. Only the original notice on the official platform is legally binding - always verify deadlines, requirements and documents there before acting. We never charge suppliers to appear, and we do not alter the substance of any notice.

Who is behind it

Aperlena is built and operated by Albert Rojo Mateu from Barcelona, Spain. Full operator details are in the legal notice, and you can reach us any time at hello@aperlena.com - corrections and suggestions are genuinely welcome.

A note from the register

Almost every portal that collects the public tenders of Europe keeps them behind a login or a price, and a page behind a login cannot be found by anyone searching for it. Aperlena does the opposite: every notice in the register is a public page, in six languages, for anyone to read. The account exists so that a bidder can work at the register rather than only read it: keep a notice, watch it, decide on it.
