Summary

Machine-generated summary

The Federal Republic of Germany, through the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt), has awarded a research contract on battery-electric vehicles used in road maintenance services. The project will study their practical suitability, performance and cost-effectiveness, including energy consumption, charging infrastructure, maintenance, safety, autonomy over up to 72 hours and use of self-generated energy from PV modules. The contract was awarded to Steinbacher-Consult Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG for an estimated value of EUR 302,521. The contract is awarded and the study aims to give decision-makers a reliable basis for future procurement strategies.
