Summary

Machine-generated summary

The Bundesanstalt für Straßen- und Verkehrswesen awarded a research and development contract on optimising fixed road lighting to lower lighting levels while keeping constant visual safety. The project aimed to analyse interactions between lighting parameters, especially luminance and uniformity, and to transfer the findings into new planning and design criteria. Expected benefits included energy savings, less light pollution, further development of standards and practical planning support. The contract was awarded to Technische Universität Berlin, with an estimated value of EUR 336,134.45.
