Description

The University of Edinburgh has appointed a supplier to fulfil the role of Principal Contractor to complete construction of the New Biology Project (New Darwin Building) at the king’s Building Campus. The building shall deliver new research, teaching and innovation facilities for 130 researchers, 140 postgraduate students and 20 innovators within a 5525m2 (GIFA) ‘zero carbon ready’ building, and 1097m2 (GIFA) of extended/ refurbished space; including a link bridge to Waddington/ Rutherford, localised refurbishment of space within the Swann, MEP, and Roger Land Buildings. The University’s commercial commitment at this point is restricted to the Pre-construction Services element only, separately identified in the bids Award against framework: RM6088 Construction Works & Associated Services (CWAS) The award is for Stage 1 Pre-Construction phase. Assuming the satisfactory conclusion of this process, the University would look to award a separate contract for Stage 2 Construction phase. A separate award notice for Stage 2 Construction will be published on PCS shortly after award of contract. (SC Ref:819343)
