Summary

Machine-generated summary

The Umweltbundesamt procured a research project under the ReFoPlan 2026 programme on disinformation as a strategic challenge for environmental and climate communication in the digital transition. The study examined how disinformation in the fields of environment, sustainability and climate protection can be effectively countered, developing and empirically testing preventive, evidence-based communication approaches, including pre-bunking strategies and counter-narratives. The contractor was to identify relevant channels and media, analyse disinformation patterns and study communication formats for different social groups, with results compiled in a strategy paper with recommendations for action. Bidding closed on 28 July 2026.
