Project 1028 - Securing migration scenarios for database systems (AMiD)

This study procures a security analysis of various migration procedures for database systems. Relevant migration strategies must be explained, the risks acting during a migration must be analysed and described, and security requirements must be derived. Two scenarios are considered: migration from a proprietary to an open-source database system, and migration from an on-premises to a cloud-hosted database system. For all security risks, requirements for the migration must be derived. In addition, a practical implementation of a migration to an open-source database system and into the cloud is required, to verify the theoretical strategies and security requirements for technical feasibility, effectiveness and practical suitability.
