Description

Luas Finglas is a 4 km extension of the Luas Green Line, delivering a high-capacity light rail connection between Finglas and Dublin city centre to support sustainable transport and urban development. The scheme will serve communities including Charlestown, Finglas Village, Finglas West, St Helena’s, and the Tolka Valley, and will comprise four new stops at St Helena’s, Finglas Village, St Margaret’s Road, and Charlestown. It also includes a 350-space Park and Ride facility near St Margaret’s Road, as well as interchange opportunities with bus services and with mainline rail services at Broombridge. The Luas Finglas Main Infrastructure Design and Construction Works will be delivered under the NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) Option C (Target Cost with Activity Schedule). The scope of this Contract (TII-499) includes, but is not limited to, the design and construction of the following principal elements: 1. Site clearance and demolitions. 2. Track (trackbed and rails). 3. Luas Stops at St Helena’s, Finglas Village, St Margaret’s Road and Charlestown. 4. Broombridge stabling site works. 5. Park and Ride facilities at St Margaret's Road. 6. Royal canal and rail overbridge at Broombridge. 7. Tolka Valley Park Bridge. 8. Fencing, retaining walls, boundary treatments and accommodation work. 9. Utility services realignment, diversion, replacement, and protection. 10. Road realignments and junction modifications. 11. Pedestrian and cycling facilities including cycle storage structures. 12. Road traffic signalling. 13. Landscape and urban realm upgrades. 14. Overhead Catenary System (OCS). 15. Power and Systems infrastructure. 16. Signalling, controls and other rail systems. 17. Working in live traffic environment on the busiest radial corridors in the greater Dublin area including property and business frontage reconfiguration. 18. Heritage / archaeology mitigation works. 19. Installation of stop furniture. 20. Installation of Validators and Ticket Vending Machines. 21. Other Ancillary works. The successful Contractor will also be responsible for: • Overall systems integration. • Interfacing and co-ordinating with other works packages to facilitate completion of works. • Interfacing and co-ordinating with stakeholders. • Testing and commissioning.
