Das Institut für Energie- und Material-Prozesse der UDE benötigt eine integrierte, vollständig automatisierte Forschungsplattform, um den steigenden Anforderungen in der Elektrokatalyseforschung - insbesondere in den Bereichen Brennstoffzellen, Elektrolyse und Elektrosynthese - gerecht zu werden. Die Plattform soll die reproduzierbare und hochdurchsatzfähige Herstellung von Elektroden entlang der Prozessschritte Formulierung, Beschichtung und Nachbehandlung ermöglichen und eine umfassende Charakterisierung entlang dieser Prozesskette gewährleisten. Die Plattform muss eine vollständig automatisierte Elektrodenproduktion inklusive Slurry- und Tintenherstellung, Filmbeschichtung und struktureller Bewertung ermöglichen sowie die digitale Nachverfolgung aller Prozessdaten unterstützen. Sie muss zudem flexibel und modular erweiterbar sein, um zukünftige Forschungsanforderungen und neue Materialsysteme abzudecken und so eine langfristige, nachhaltige Nutzung sicherzustellen.
