Summary

Machine-generated summary

The city of Essen, Germany, is running an urban and open space planning competition under the RPW 2013 guidelines to redesign public space in the city centre. The aim is to develop two key projects, the 'Green-blue city centre band' and the 'Marktkirche surroundings', into one coherent, climate-resilient public space concept. The procedure is a non-open, single-phase, anonymous realization competition preceded by a separate application stage. Existing buildings remain in place; the focus is on upgrading public space.
