Mittels Medienbeobachtung soll ein interessierter Personenkreis regelmässig über die Berichterstattung mit Bezug zur Stadtverwaltung informiert werden. Ziele sind ein Überblick über die aktuelle Lage der Berichterstattung sowie die Möglichkeit, rasch auf Medienberichterstattung reagieren zu können. Stadtwerk Winterthur sowie die Stadtpolizei Winterthur stellen besondere Bedürfnisse an die Medienbeobachtung und haben gesonderte Themen und Medien, welche für sie interessant sind.
