Die Auftragsvergabe erfolgte im Namen der NEW AG zugunsten ihrer Tochtergesellschaft NEW Niederrhein Energie und Wasser GmbH. Die NEW Niederrhein Energie und Wasser nutzt die Systeme der Firma SAP seit vielen Jahren. Sie sind in fast alle Prozesse der Unternehmensgruppe integriert und gewährleisten die ineinandergreifenden Funktionalitäten von technischen und kaufmännischen Prozessen sowie der Befolgung aller rechtlichen Vorgaben die (Informations-) Sicherheit und vor allem die Sicherheit der elementaren Geschäftsprozesse der NEW betreffend. Mit dem Update auf die SAP S/4 HANA Utilities stellt die NEW auch für die Zukunft sicher, dass die Software und die damit erfolgende Abwicklung aller relevanten Prozesse den Anforderungen an IT-Sicherheit und allen neuen technischen IT-Standards genügt. siehe Beschreibung "Einzelheiten zum Verfahrenstyp"
