Summary

Machine-generated summary

The University of Emden/Leer is procuring, Europe-wide, all planning and development services for a fully construction-ready detailed design of a climate-neutral, multifunctional coastal fishing vessel using methanol-electric propulsion. The work supports the joint research project 'Future Cutter North Sea' (KUNO), which will build and test a demonstrator serving as a blueprint for sustainable coastal fisheries in the German Bight beyond 2040. The design must be modular and multifunctional, allowing different fishing methods, later conversion by owners and small series builds. Scope includes extensive stability calculations, simulations and tests covering critical operational states across various operating modes to ensure long-term safety and inform future owners of safety risks.
