Description

Das Altonaer Rathaus am Platz der Republik in Hamburg-Altona ist ein denkmalgeschütztes Dienstgebäude. Seit 1898 ist es das Rathaus der bis 1938 selbständigen Stadt Altona. Ursprünglich war der Bau das Bahnhofsgebäude der Altona-Kieler Eisenbahngesellschaft. Das ehemalige Bahnhofs-Empfangsgebäude wurde vom Altonaer Stadtbauinspektor Emil Brandt umgebaut und erweitert. Die Architektur der Vierflügelanlage beeinflusst von der italienischen Renaissance. Im Inneren wurden durch Umbauten insbesondere der Kollegiensaal für die Stadtverordnetenversammlung (1. Obergeschoss im Nordflügel) und eine Dienstwohnung für den Oberbürgermeister (Ostflügel) geschaffen. Seit dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs beherbergt das Rathaus das Bezirksamt-Altona. Der Kollegiensaal wird insbesondere für Plenarsitzungen der Bezirksversammlung Altona genutzt. Im Südflügel (dem Bahnhofsbau von 1844) befindet sich das Standesamt, es ist aufgrund des an-sehnlichen Gebäudes und seiner Lage oberhalb der Elbe ein beliebter Ort für Eheschließungen. Das Gebäude befindet sich am Platz der Republik 1 in 22765 Hamburg-Altona. Im Norden grenzt das Gebäude an den Platz der Republik. Im Süden befindet sich die vielbefahrene Palmaille und die Kloppstockstraße. Östlich verläuft die ebenfalls vielbefahrene Max-Brauer-Allee, westlich die für Anlieferungen zu nutzende Betty-Levy-Passage. Im Zuge der zu planenden Sanierung sind die vier verschiedenen Fassaden, nach Himmelsrichtung aufgeteilt, abschnittsweise einzurüsten (jeweils Außenfassade und innenhofseitig) sowie Maurer- und Putzarbeiten, Stuckateurleistungen (Figuren, Gesimse etc.) und Malerarbeiten vorzusehen. Gleichermaßen sind die Dachflächen vollumfänglich zu sanieren, ggfs. statisch zu verstärken, und die Dämmung energetisch aufzuwerten. Welche u. a. mit einem Tragwerksplaner und womöglich TGA-Planer abzustimmen sind. Hierfür ist eine detaillierte Bestandsaufnahme erforderlich. Des Weiteren sind Vorbereitungen für eine PV-Anlage zu treffen. Die Fenster bleiben im Bestand, ebenso wie die vorhandenen Ge-simsabdeckbleche aus Kupfer im Traufbereich. Der AG geht davon aus, dass die Fassade nicht abgebeizt werden muss.
