Summary

Machine-generated summary

HOCHBAHN plans a phased award of design services for the basic refurbishment of two U3 line structures in Hamburg between the districts of Altona (Sternschanze) and Mitte (Karolinenviertel). Structure A(005), the Schlachthofgelände operation tunnel between Sternschanze and Feldstraße stations, dates from 1912 and is about 495 m long. Only coarse damage is to be repaired in the northern section of about 110 m, since renewal occurs with the Sternschanze station refurbishment, while the southern section of about 385 m under the Schlachthof site is to be comprehensively refurbished, largely renewing ceiling panels, to keep the tunnel in use for at least 30 more years. The portal structure at the southern tunnel mouth is to be renewed. Structure A(006), the Laeiszstraße retaining wall of six sections totalling about 360 m, follows south of the tunnel mouth.
