Summary

Machine-generated summary

The city of Unna has decided to refurbish and extend the Katharinen School, a three-form entry primary school with around 300 pupils, in response to the forthcoming legal right to all-day childcare. The service covers structural design and building physics for the project. Existing interior spaces are to be adapted to all-day use and the existing buildings renovated, so that 100% occupancy of the all-day programme becomes possible. A two-storey annex on the north side of the 1888 building (House 2) will house a new kitchen and dining room with ancillary rooms, built in hybrid construction without a basement. The school consists of several connected buildings from different construction periods.
