Hankinnan kohteena on Helen Sähköverkko Oy:n (jäljempänä Hankintayksikkö) Salmisaaren 110 kV, Suvilahden 110 kV ja Viikinmäen 20 kV sähköasemien suojaus- ja automaatiojärjestelmät. Helen Sähköverkko Oy modernisoi Salmisaaren 110 kV, Suvilahden 110 kV ja Viikinmäen 20 kV sähköasemien suojaus- ja automaatiojärjestelmät vuosina 2027-2028. Salmisaaren 110 kV sähköasemalla on 14 kenttäinen ABB:n 110 kV ELK-04 GIS kojeisto ja suojaus- ja automaatiojärjestelmänä on pääasiassa Siemensin vuonna 2002 toimittamat järjestelmät. Suvilahden 110 kV sähköasemalla on 20 kenttäinen Siemensin toimittama 110 kV 8DN8 GIS kojeisto ja suojaus- ja automaatiojärjestelmänä on Siemensin vuonna 2006 toimittamat järjestelmät. Viikinmäen 20 kV sähköasemalla on 47 kenttäinen Siemensin toimittama 20 kV NxPlus kojeisto ja suojaus- ja automaatiojärjestelmä on Siemensin vuonna 2006 toimittamat järjestelmät. Asemille tullaan vaihtamaan tässä urakassa edellä mainitut suojaus- ja automaatiojärjestelmät ns. ”avaimet käteen” toimituksena. Lisäksi asemien tunnusjärjestelmät tullaan muuttamaan nykykäytännön mukaisiksi. Ilmoittautuneilta tullaan edellyttämään riittävää kokemusta vastaavan kokoluokan sähköasemahankkeista. Hankinnan alustava sisältö on kuvattu osallistumispyynnössä ja sen liitteissä. Hankintaa koskevat asiakirjat ja niiden sisältö täydentyvät hankintamenettelyn aikana ja lopullinen hankinnan kohde ja vaatimukset esitetään lopullisessa tarjouspyynnössä.
