Description

This contract is an extension to the current Senior Technical Architect contract, which expires 31st July 2026. As this contract will now exceed 25k GBP, a POR and RFA are required. This extension will be procured as a new appointment (direct award to Hays through CCS) to cover the full period from August to September via the Non Clinical Staffing Framework (CCS), Lot 3: IT Professionals to ensure compliance. New requirements have arisen from the MHCS Next Data Migration Strategy (only concluded in March 2026), the delivery of which rests on the procurement of the Senior Technical Architect who will be responsible for leading on workshops focused specifically on the following outputs: Cohort mapping The MHCS Next Data Migration Strategy developed in March 2026 determined that it will not be possible to transition services to the new EPR in a ‘big bang’ approach but there will instead require a phased approach of groups or ‘cohorts’ of services. The project requires guidance around how services, pathways, data and users will be organised into migration cohorts to ensure the migration is delivered safely and without disrupting clinical or operational processes as well as rationale for rollout order to be developed. Data scope CAV UHB has built a highly tailored Paris environment over more than two decades, with extensive configurations, custom workflows and more than 1,700 Crystal Reports created to meet operational, clinical and reporting needs. It is necessary to determine which data will be migrated to the new system(s), and which data will be archived as well as how data will be accessed. This determination requires the involvement of clinical and other key stakeholders in discussions led by highly specialised technical expertise. Data quality approach Before migrating data into the future system(s), CAV UHB must define a clear approach to data integrity checking, cleansing, and validation. This includes agreeing what needs to be checked, when checks occur, and how issues are addressed to ensure high quality data enters - and is confirmed within - the new system. There is an opportunity to begin this work early in the programme and front load elements of the effort to reduce pressure later in the migration lifecycle.
