Description
Support for Oracle/Solaris/Dell hardware and software. Remote 2nd and 3rd line support required 24x7 to manage all incidents, service requests and changes. Also require support of physical kit (servers and storage devices) at
Saughton House, Edinburgh and at Glasgow Sheriff Court. Support required for all Solaris environments across the estate and access to Oracle technicians.
The Server/Storage Device Management service should include:
Maintenance - responsible for keeping the systems patched to the agreed level and tuning to ensure it is running at its most efficient.
Administration - responsible for the management including the validation and execution of Requests for Change (RFC) the physical and virtual environments and technical support (incident and problem resolution). Storage Device - Examples would include the creation and expansion of SAN volumes.
Monitoring - Proactive monitoring of the performance of the physical and virtual systems and notification of issues. Monitoring the performance of the storage devices and notification of issues.
Hardware Support - need provision for escalation for hardware support for all supported Oracle and Dell hardware under a valid hardware support contract.
Solaris Patching and Management - Responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Solaris operating systems, and any anomalies to be addressed through approved incident management process. Responsibility for the patching of the operating systems of the managed servers.
