The microscope will be installed inside a BSL3 laboratory and used to study pathogenic bacteria and viruses and their interactions with host cells such as macrophages and cell cultures. The system must enable high-resolution fluorescence imaging of living microbes, host-pathogen interactions, and organoids and tissues at single-cell level. It must include a stage incubation chamber with CO2 and temperature control, a motorised stage with holders for slides and multiwell plates, a control and analysis computer with software, and a second computer outside the BSL3 lab for image analysis and post-processing.
