TenneT Germany, a leading transmission system operator that builds, maintains and operates Germany's largest electricity transmission grid and connects a large share of the EU's offshore wind capacity, is conducting a market consultation on the maintenance and repair of its offshore installations (AC and DC) in the German North Sea. The consultation seeks to identify the most advanced maintenance concepts available on the market, covering common service set-ups, current innovations, typical levels of standardisation and providers' competitive advantages. TenneT invites participants to critically assess its described plans and propose an ideal partnership strategy that would enable mutual success, laying the groundwork for possible future cooperation.

With its over 5.000 employees (internal and external) the company builds, maintains and operates Germany's largest transmission grid with a length over 14.000 km connecting more than a third of the European Union’s total offshore wind capacity. Its growth is driven by a rapidly evolving electricity demand that requires a flexible and growing grid architecture. What is the common service set-up? What are the current innovations that shape the market and how do you drive this development? What is the usual amount of standardization and what is your specific competitive edge that makes you a role model for the whole market? Furthermore please challenge TenneT´s described plans and the set-up in order to facilitate a subsequent partnership with the aim of mutual success by describing the ideal strategy from your perspective. If feasible, a thorough description in the open text fields is highly appreciated in order to give TenneT the opportunity to learn about the market capabilities. With this in mind, we would like to ask you for feedback on the tender. If possible, a detailed description in the open text fields is very welcome. TenneT reserves the right to invite selected participants of this market exploration to further detailed discussions after evaluation of the results.
