Das Schulhaus Dorf ist ein wichtiger architekturhistorischer Zeuge für den ländlichen Schulhausbau in der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts (Bauzeit 1870). Zusätzlich zur bauzeitlichen Substanz mitsamt ihren Ausstattungselementen sind aus denkmalpflegerischer Sicht die baulichen Veränderungen und Ausstattungselemente von 1948 bis 1951 von besonderer Bedeutung. Die Gemeinde Embrach beabsichtigt, das denkmalgeschützte Gebäude an der Dorfstrasse 4 zu sanieren, einen Lift einzubauen sowie Aussenraumprojekte zu planen und umzusetzen. Der Gemeinderat Embrach löste darauffolgend für die weitere Planung und Realisierung die vorliegende öffentliche, zweistufige Generalplanersubmission aus. Mit dieser soll ein Anbieter (Bewerber) gefunden werden, welcher geeignet ist, die Sanierung des Schulhauses weiter zu planen und bis zur Fertigstellung und Inbetriebnahme zu begleiten.
