Refoplan 2026: „Arzneimittelindex Umwelt - Etablierung eines Umweltinformations- und -klassifikationssystem für Arzneimittel in Deutschland“ Arzneimittelrückstände in der Umwelt verschmutzen unsere Wasserressourcen und können erhebliche ökotoxikologische Probleme verursachen. Der Arzneimittelindex Umwelt wird ein wichtiger Baustein im Lebenszyklus von Arzneimitteln, um den Eintrag von problematischer Arzneistoffen zu verringern. Im Index werden Wirkstoffe anhand ihrer Schädlichkeit für Organismen in der Umwelt klassifiziert und Informationen zum Umweltverhalten bereitstellt, die in Therapieempfehlungen einfließen können. Dieses Konzept eines pharmazeutischen Umweltinformations- und Klassifikationssystems für Deutschland wurde in Workshops, bei Vorträgen mit relevanten Akteursgruppen und in der Presse (u. a. DAZ, PZ) sehr begrüßt. Die Machbarkeit des Konzepts, das aus Informations-, Klassifikations- sowie verschiedenen Vermittlungssystemen besteht, wurde in einem Vorhaben (FKZ 3723 65 4030) bestätigt. Das Umweltbundesamt wird das entwickelte Konzept des Arzneimittelindex Umwelt nun realisieren. Das Ziel des Projektes ist es, diesen Prozess partizipativ mit vielen Stakeholdern zu begleiten und die Verankerung des Index als Informationsinstitution im deutschen Gesundheitssystem aktiv zu unterstützen. In einem Arbeitspaket soll zusätzlich die Aktualisierung der UBA-Datenbank „Arzneimittel in der Umwelt“ für den Zeitraum 2021-2026 beauftragt werden, um die Datengrundlage der Problematik aktuell zur Verfügung zu stellen.
