Erarbeitung eines Modernisierungskonzepts für die 76 Lichtsignalanlagen, welches die Umrüstung aller Anlagen auf LED-Technik sowie die Steuerung mittels Künstlicher Intelligenz vorsieht. Ab dem 1. Januar 2026 übernimmt die SWT- Anstalt des öffentlichen Rechts der Stadt Trier (SWT-AöR) die Verantwortung für die Hardware-Komponenten aller 76 Lichtsignalanlagen (LSA) in der Stadt Trier. Im Rahmen dieser Übertragung wird die SWT AöR die Modernisierung und Umrüstung aller Anlagen auf LED-Technik vorantreiben, um eine zukunftsfähige und effiziente Infrastruktur zu gewährleisten. Im Zuge der Modernisierung der Lichtsignalanlagen setzt die SWT AöR auf den Einsatz von Künstlicher Intelligenz, um den Verkehrsfluss im Trierer Stadtgebiet nachhaltig zu optimieren. Ziel ist die Erarbeitung eines Modernisierungskonzepts für die LSA, das als Grundlage für eine Ausschreibung dient. Diese soll ein einheitliches, KI-gestütztes LSA-System etablieren, das nicht nur den Verkehrsfluss verbessert, sondern auch den elektrischen Energieverbrauch auf ein Minimum reduziert.
