Das Heizkraftwerk West (HKW West) ist der größte Erzeugungsstandort der Mainova Aktiengesellschaft und stellt die zentrale Erzeugungsanlage des Innenstadtfernwärmenetzes dar. Am Standort HKW West werden mehrere Anlagen zur Erzeugung von Strom, Dampf und Fernwärme betrieben. Den Betrachtungsgegenstand der vertraglichen Leistungen stellt die HKR-Anlage am Standort HKW West. Die Anlage bereitet rücklaufendes Fernheizkondensat als auch Maschinenkondensate auf und befindet sich seit dem Jahr 1967 in Betrieb. Seitdem wurde die Anlage regelmäßig gewartet und instandgesetzt. Das Projekt verfolgt das Ziel einer Gesamtanlagenmodernisierung, dessen konzeptionelle Ausarbeitung auf den Ergebnissen der Machbarkeitsuntersuchung aus dem Jahr 2021 und der abgeschlossenen Vorplanung aus dem Jahr 2022 basieren. Ebenso in diesem Projekt ist der Neubau einer Vollentsalzungsanlage als Ersatz für die vorhandenen Deionaterzeugung. Die Mainova AG betreibt am HKW-West eine 2-straßige Vollentsalzungsanlage im Bestandsgebäude 0402F („VE3-Anlage“) mit einer Aufbereitungskapazität von 80 m³/h. Das VE-Wasser wird zur Nachspeisung des Fernwärmesystems, des Werkswasserkreislaufes und des Wasser-Dampfkreislaufes benötigt. Die VE3-Anlage wurde im Jahr 1980 von Mannesmann Anlagenbau errichtet und wird zur Aufbereitung von Trinkwasser zu Kesselspeisewasser nach VGB-M 407 G genutzt. Für die HKR soll aufgrund der vorhandenen Vorplanung in der Phase 3 nach HOAI gestartet werden und für die VE3 muss aufgrund der fehlenden Vorplanung in der Phase 2 in Anlehnung an die HOAI gestartet werden. Auf Basis der fertigen Ausführungsplanung und der Angebote der Lieferanten wird das Projekt intern auf Weiterführung geprüft und bei positiven Ergebnis eine Mittelfreigabe angestrebt. In der weiterführenden Phase beabsichtigt der Auftraggeber drüber hinaus, den Auftragnehmer für die folgenden weiteren Leistungsphasen zu beauftragen.
