Saarbahn Netz GmbH is procuring retrofit works on three existing 35 kV switchgear installations at the substations Mainzer Strasse (UW 11), Rathaus (UW 12) and Hauptbahnhof (UW 13). These substations, built in 1995, are a key part of the 750 V DC traction power supply of the Saarbahn and feed the overhead contact line network. They comprise 35 kV and DC switchgear plus associated control, protection and auxiliary systems. Because the installed protection and control components have been discontinued and spare parts are no longer available, the primary and secondary components are to be renewed, including supply and installation. The works are described in lots 1 to 3.
