Germany - Switchgear - Partial renewal of three DC switchgear installations

Saarbahn Netz GmbH is procuring partial renewal works on three DC switchgear installations. The substations Mainzer Strasse (UW 11), Rathaus (UW 12) and Hauptbahnhof (UW 13) form part of the 750-volt DC traction power supply of the Saarbahn network. Because key electrical components have been discontinued and spare parts availability is limited, modernisation and partial renewal are required for the DC switchgear, the control and remote-control technology and the auxiliary systems. The works include renewing selected switchgear components, control and signalling equipment, and adapting the power supply installations. The aim is to ensure long-term operational and supply security. Full scope and technical requirements are set out in the tender documents.
