Das Fraunhofer ITEM schreibt für das Fraunhofer CML einen Auftrag über einer schlüsselfertigen Laborinfrastruktur zum Testen Brennstoffzellenbasierter Antriebssystem aus. Im Rahmen des Vorhabens „Hanseatic Hydrogen Center for Aviation and Maritime (H2AM)“ - vormals bekannt als „Innovations- und Technologiezentrum für Wasserstoff (ITZ)“ - entsteht ein neues Forschungs- und Entwicklungszentrum (FuE-Zentrum) für Wasserstofftechnologien. Ziel ist die Schaffung einer infrastrukturellen Plattform zur anwendungsnahen Entwicklung, Erprobung und Validierung von Komponenten und Systemen, insbesondere im Bereich von Brennstoffzellensystemen für die maritime und luftfahrttechnische Nutzung. In enger Zusammenarbeit mit Industrie- und Forschungspartnern werden hier technologische Innovationen für eine nachhaltige, wasserstoffbasierte Wertschöpfung im Mobilitäts- und Energiesektor vorangetrieben. Das Fraunhofer Center für Maritime Logistik und Dienstleistungen (Fraunhofer CML) übernimmt im H2AM eine zentrale Rolle beim Aufbau eines Fuel-Cell-Integration-Centers (FCIC). Ziel des FCIC ist es, ein modular strukturiertes Labor zu schaffen, das umfassende Tests und systematische Analysen von Antriebssystemen auf Basis von Brennstoffzellentechnologie für die maritime Anwendung ermöglicht. Das geplante FCIC soll als Forschungsinfrastruktur dienen, um die Integration und Optimierung von Brennstoffzellensystemen mit ihren Balance-of-Plant (BoP) für den Einsatz in maritimen Antriebssystemen zu erforschen. Ein besonderer Fokus liegt auf der Modularität des Labors, um verschiedene Komponenten eines maritimen Antriebsstranges flexibel untersuchen zu können.
