Die Stadt Wedel ist Teil der Metropolregion Hamburg, grenzt unmittelbar westlich an Hamburg, und befindet sich im Kreis Pinneberg in Schleswig-Holstein. Insgesamt gibt es in Wedel 7 Schulen, davon 3 Grundschulen und 5 Sporthallen einen Freizeitpark und ein Sportstadion. Weiterhin gibt es mehrere stadteigene Liegenschaften wie Häuser oder Wohnungen, dazu auch noch angemieteten Wohnraum. Da es in den letzten Jahren vermehrt zu Problemen mit Feuchtigkeit und Schimmelbildung kommt, beabsichtigt die Stadt Wedel eine Rahmenvereinbarung mit Gutachtern für Feuchteschäden und Bauwerksabdichtung zu schließen. Der Umfang hat sich in den letzten Jahren so erhöht, dass beabsichtigt wird eine Rahmenvereinbarung mit 3 Gutachtern zu schließen, die abwechselnd beauftragt werden sollen. Dies soll dazu dienen, dass keine Abhängigkeiten zwischen Gutachter und Stadt Wedel entstehen.
