Summary

Machine-generated summary

The Building and Property Management Aachen is procuring specialist planning services for technical building equipment for the project 'Repair of ventilation switchgear'. The site is the Rotations building of RWTH Aachen, building 4242, part 24B, Sommerfeldstrasse 18, 52074 Aachen, a 1976 university building used for research, teaching and work areas. Its basement houses electrical operating and supply areas with existing switchgear and cabinets serving the building services installations. The measure concerns the ventilation system switch cabinets and associated electrical infrastructure in the basement. The refurbishment need was identified in 2006 and included in the maintenance plan since 2021; despite partial works, live parts remain in old cabinets lacking adequate touch protection, posing an acute danger, with open cabinets temporarily cooled as an interim solution. The aim is refurbishment or replacement of 13 switch cabinets.
