Summary

Machine-generated summary

The Joint Research Centre (JRC) Karlsruhe, a nuclear research institute of the European Commission located at the KIT Campus North site, which holds a licence under § 9 of the German Atomic Energy Act to handle radioactive materials, is seeking legal advice on construction law matters. The advice covers general issues in repair works on existing buildings with regard to German authority requirements, as well as contractual and legal questions and claims raised by bidders and contractors during contract execution. For new construction projects where technical installations are to be fitted from late 2025 and commissioned in 2028, the adviser shall identify and assess potential contractor claims, advise on damage mitigation strategies, evaluate variation claims, defend and negotiate out-of-court claims, prepare defect and compensation claims, answer contract law questions, produce expert opinions, assess legal risks and develop dispute resolution strategies. Evidence of additional qualification as a specialist lawyer in German construction and architect law (FAO) is required.
