Summary

Machine-generated summary

A contract is being awarded for testing bidirectional operation of stationary and mobile battery storage units in the electricity grid, applying the Federal Network Agency's 'Determination on Market Integration of Storage Units and Charging Points' (MiSpeL), and analysing the effects on the grid. The trial addresses how growing numbers of storage systems and electric vehicles, which can act as active components of the energy system through bidirectional charging, fit into the overall system. It covers the required combination of vehicle, charging equipment, energy management system, metering and communication technology, and market and billing processes, including the new delineation and flat-rate options, and examines how simultaneous loading or unloading of many units may create new load peaks on distribution grids.
