Westphalian University of Applied Sciences Gelsenkirchen plans to build the 'H2 Solution Lab for Hydrogen Applications', a research building of around 2,000 m2 floor area including highly specialised hydrogen plant technology with 1 MW H2 power (electrolysis, fuel cell modules, storage, compressors and more). The building will serve research and development as well as demonstration and transfer activities, and will also provide workplaces for research purposes with laboratory elements plus office and seminar rooms. The aim is construction and operation by a private partner in a public-private partnership, awarded in a single lot via an EU-wide procedure with a prior participation competition. The partner should handle major parts of planning, construction including installation and commissioning of the hydrogen installations, and technical facility management, with maintenance of the hydrogen installations included where possible.
