Summary

Machine-generated summary

N-ERGIE Aktiengesellschaft Nürnberg, which supplies drinking water to the city of Nuremberg, is procuring renovation works on the Ursprung trunk main, a drinking water pipeline in operation since 1885. The main runs about 13.6 km from the Ursprung catchment area to the Schmausenbuck elevated reservoir, supplying roughly 12% of Nuremberg's drinking water needs together with the Krämersweiher catchment area at around 13,000 m³ per day. The pipeline, mostly made of 550 mm grey cast iron socket pipes, largely crosses forest in the Nuremberg Reichswald, with tunnels under the A3 and A9 motorways. The works consist of renewing a 3.2 km section of the pipeline in construction section 1 using the pipe reduction method.
