Summary

Machine-generated summary

DB InfraGO AG, the largest railway infrastructure manager in Germany with a rail network of over 33,000 km, is procuring an innovation partnership to develop a new machinery-based solution for sustainably eliminating mud spots in the rail network. Mud spots, which typically affect sections of 10 to 50 m, cause track alignment faults, slow-speed zones and possible line closures. Market research conducted since May 2024 found no existing large-scale machinery or construction methods meeting the requirements. The aim is a durable solution, generally lasting at least 10 years, that removes mud spots within the SB2 closure-time planning, which provides recurring windows of up to 8 hours, while respecting economic, quality and operational requirements.

Description
