Summary

Machine-generated summary

Deutsche Bahn wants to renew two listed steel arch railway bridges in Cologne: the Venloer Strasse overpass and the Vogelsanger Strasse overpass, carrying lines 2630, 2613 and 2617 plus five sidings at Koeln-West station. The contract covers the complete construction works for structural engineering and technical building services, plus preparatory environmental measures. Both bridges are renewed at the same time during a 17-month full closure in 2028 to 2030, alongside the parallel Luxemburger Strasse and Zuepicher Strasse overpass projects. Existing abutments will be demolished and replaced with reinforced concrete abutments; about 1,956 tonnes of steel superstructures will be built, including steel trough and composite bridge decks and beam grid decks, with two passenger lifts retained at Venloer Strasse.
