Summary

Machine-generated summary

This tender covers the design and execution of a replacement floating footbridge over the Inner Harbour (Innenhafen) in Duisburg, where the old floating walkway was removed in 2021. Growing demand to cross the harbour means a new pedestrian connection is to be built at the same location, roughly in the middle of the harbour basin, linking the north and south banks. The bridge connects to the existing promenade on the north bank, is slightly raised at the abutments on both banks to clear the listed retaining wall, and is accessed via very shallow ramps. Work covers planning, prefabrication, assembly, anchoring to pre-laid flat anchors, connection of end bridge sections via hinged bridges and barrier-free landings in two main construction phases.
