Design and Build of Lattice Towers at Sumburgh, Kirkwall, Dundee and Campbeltown Airports

HIAL is seeking the services of a suitably qualified Design and Build Specialist to undertake the detailed design, construction and installation of: - 7 new 10m high lattice towers across 4 locations, - hinged to fold for maintenance access, - suitable foundations, ducting, cabling and termination boxes, The supplier shall carry out a comprehensive lightning protection risk assessment for the proposed mast in accordance with BS EN 62305 standards. If, based on the assessment, the structure does not meet a tolerable risk level, the supplier shall design, supply and install an appropriate lightning protection system in accordance with the relevant standards to reduce the risk to a tolerable level. The supplier will be responsible for the complete design, supply, installation, project management and commissioning of new lattice tower structures. This notice is to give potential suppliers prior notice of the Authority's intention to go out to tender. The Authority is not inviting suppliers to submit bids at this time. The Authority is aiming to issue the contract notice in February 2026, with contract award anticipated in late May/June 2026.
