EcoWerf is procuring design services for a new transshipment site at the newly built quay on the Vaart in Leuven, Belgium. The quay is built by De Vlaamse Waterweg. The 8,327 m2 plot must include a transshipment hall, waste pressing techniques, weighbridges, limited office space, staff facilities, a technical room, an industrial hall for third parties, parking, a green buffer and water management with infiltration capacity. The design must optimise logistics and account for flood sensitivity and utility lines. Estimated construction budget: 6,000,000 EUR excluding VAT. Design team appointment is planned for June 2026; construction is planned from March 2027 to August 2029.
