Finland - Construction work - Prior information notice: Siltamäki school and daycare centre, lease project

The City of Helsinki plans to procure a school and daycare centre as a lease project at Siltakyläntie 9. The old Siltamäki primary school building will be demolished and replaced with a new building housing a unified comprehensive school (grades 1 to 9) and facilities for preschool daycare. A property investor or other party will be competitively tendered to design and build the new construction and lease it to the city for an initial 20-year period. The estimated value is around EUR 60 million. The contract notice is expected in April 2026, with procurement completed by the end of 2026. Construction could start from early 2028, with teaching beginning by early 2030.
