Description

Der Bundesrat setzt sich dafür ein, dass die Opfer der nationalsozialistischen Verfolgung und des Holocaust nicht in Vergessenheit geraten. Im April 2023 hat er deshalb 2,5 Millionen Franken für die Realisierung eines Erinnerungsortes für die Opfer des Nationalsozialismus bewilligt. Das Mahnmal soll in der Stadt Bern entstehen und für alle zugänglich sein. Ziel des Verfahrens ist es, einen Beitrag auszuwählen, der an die Opfer des Nationalsozialismus erinnert, zu einer Auseinandersetzung mit der Geschichte der Schweiz zur Zeit des Nationalsozialismus anregt und angesichts der nationalsozialistischen Massenverbrechen fragt, was historische Verantwortung für die Gegenwart bedeutet. Dabei wird eine zeitgenössische, ästhetisch wirksame Gestaltung erwartet, die vielfältige gedankliche und emotionale Zugänge schafft.
