Das Hochbauamt Kanton Zürich veranstaltet im Auftrag der Universität Zürich (UZH) zwei Studienaufträge im selektiven Verfahren für die künstlerische Ausgestaltung des Neubaus FORUM UZH. Das vorliegende Studienprogramm betrifft den Aussenraum. Bauherrin ist die Universität Zürich, die das Gebäude auch mehrheitlich nutzen wird. Die UZH beauftragt das Hochbauamt des Kantons Zürich (HBA) mit der Gesamtprojektleitung für die SIA Phasen 2 bis 5. Der Generalplaner ist die Herzog & de Meuron Forum AG. Mit dem Studienauftrag für das FORUM UZH soll eine künstlerische Intervention im Aussenraum gefunden werden, die sich auf anregende Weise mit der Architektur, dem sie umgebenden Stadtraum und der Funktion des neuen Gebäudes auseinandersetzt und dadurch Architektur und Kunst zu einem Gesamtkonzept zusammenführt. Das Beurteilungsgremium begutachtet die eingereichten Projekte hinsichtlich ihrer Auseinandersetzung mit der Aufgabenstellung, ihrer Resonanz auf den Ort, ihrer künstlerischen Wirkung und ihrer Beziehung zu Architektur und Landschaft. Die künstlerischen Vorschläge sollen eine eigenständige und starke Bildsprache sprechen. Statische, permanente Werke sind ebenso willkommen wie performative, zeitbasierte Arbeiten - letztere sofern ein schlüssiges Konzept für ihre Realisierung und Dokumentation nachgewiesen wird. Auch der langfristige Betriebs- und Unterhaltsaufwand fliesst in die Beurteilung ein.
