Die ETH Zürich bietet ihren Studierenden nicht nur eine exzellente akademische Ausbildung, sondern auch ein inspirierendes Umfeld für persönliches Engagement. Viele Studierende beteiligen sich aktiv an Organisationen, Veranstaltungen und Projekten, wodurch sie wertvolle überfachliche Kompetenzen erwerben. Das Student Project House fördert interdisziplinäre, aussercurriculare Zusammenarbeit in einem inspirierenden ‘maker-space’. Die Hochschule bietet zudem professionelle Strukturen zur Förderung von Unternehmertum und Technologietransfer. Zur weiteren Stärkung studentischer und unternehmerischer Initiativen ist auf dem Campus Hönggerberg der Neubau HIC geplant. Er soll Raum bieten für verschiedene Gruppen: den VSETH, der die Studierenden in Gremien vertritt und vielfältige Services bietet; den SOSETH, der die technische Infrastruktur und Kreativangebote bereitstellt; das Student Project House, das praxisnahe Projektarbeit ermöglicht; sowie diverse Competition Teams, die ETH-Studierende zu Höchstleistungen bei internationalen Wettbewerben führen. Auch das Unternehmertum wird gezielt gefördert. Mit dem Neubau HIC entsteht ein zentraler Ort für Austausch, Innovation und Unternehmensentwicklung. Die ETH-Entrepreneurships finden hier eine gemeinsame Plattform, um technologieorientierte Gründungen zu stärken und kreative Ideen in die Anwendung zu bringen. Ergänzt wird dieses Angebot durch ETH-Juniors, welche als studentische Unternehmensberatung agiert. Durch diese räumliche Konzentration entsteht ein dynamisches Umfeld, das marktfähige Innovationen begünstigt und den Innovationsstandort Schweiz nachhaltig stärkt. Der Neubau umfasst insgesamt ca. 5'600 m2 HNF. Das Ergebnis der Gesamtleistungsausschreibung ist ein klar definiertes Projekt gemäss den in der Ausschreibung definierten funktionalen Anforderungen inkl. eines Angebotes mit verbindlichem Globalpreis für dessen Realisierung. Nach der Gesamtleistungsausschreibung beabsichtigt die ETH den vom Beurteilungsgremium vorgeschlagenen Gesamtleistungsanbietenden (GL) mit der Planung und Ausführung zu beauftragen.
