Es ist geplant die Schleuse Neustadt mit geiegneten Dammmaterial zu verfüllen. Die Schleusenkammer hat eine Länge von 45 m und eine Breite von 5,20. Im Oberhaupt ist die Verfüllung auf einer Länge von etwa 10,0 m auf NN + 36,70 m und damit etwa 45 cm unter Oberhauptplanie und 60 cm über max. Stau geplant; dies entspricht der Höhe der vorhandenen Schleusentore.
