Description

Die Sportanlage Schützenmatte bildet zusammen mit den verschiedenen Rasen- und Tennisplätzen das Sportareal Schützenmatte. Die Zuschauerkapazität des Stadions beträgt ca. 8'000 Personen (6'000 Steh- und 2'000 Sitzplätze). Die Sportanlage Schützenmatte inkl. Tribünengebäude wurde durch die bekannten Basler Architekten Groeflin + Muralda gleichzeitig mit dem direkt angrenzenden Polizei Ausbildungszentrum an der General Guisan-Strasse ab 1968 erstellt und 1971 eingeweiht.  Die von verschiedenen Sportvereinen als auch für den Individualsport intensiv genutzte Anlage ist mittlerweile gesamthaft in die Jahre gekommen. Gebäudehülle, Gebäudetechnik und auch der Innenausbau des Stadiongebäudes sind am Ende ihrer Lebensdauer angekommen und bedürfen einer umfassenden Sanierung. Die Räumlichkeiten entsprechen teilweise nicht mehr den heutigen Anforderungen an die stark genutzte Anlage und müssen entsprechend angepasst werden. Die Aussenanlagen des Stadions weisen ebenfalls sehr starke Abnutzungserscheinungen auf und müssen saniert und den heutigen Standards an Sicherheit und Nutzung angepasst werden. Durch die Sanierung der Anlage soll die Sportanlage gesamtheitlich in einen neuen Lebenszyklus überführt werden.
