For more information see: https://www.gov.scot/policies/public-sector-procurement/community-benefits-in-procurement/ A summary of the expected community benefits has been provided as follows: The successful Tenderer is required to take all reasonable steps to employ apprentices and report to the Contract Administrator the numbers of apprentices employed and wider skills training during the contract. The successful Tenderer shall take all reasonable steps to ensure that up to 5% of the employees, or that a similar specified proportion of hours worked in delivering the contract, (which may include support staff and sub-contractors) are to be delivered by an employee on a formal apprenticeship programme. The successful Tenderer is required to make available to its employees working on the contract, information about the Government’s Apprenticeship programme wider skills opportunities. The contractor shall provide any appropriate further skills training opportunities for employees delivering the contract. The successful Tenderer shall provide a written report when requested detailing the following measures: a) The number of people during the reporting period employed on the contract, including support staff and sub-contractors and the value of spend attributable to those within the AB post code area. b) The number of apprentices and number of new starts on apprenticeships directly initiated through the procurement process. c) The percentage of all employees taking part in an apprenticeship programme. d) If applicable, an explanation from the contractor as to why they are not managing to meet the specified percentage target. e) Actions being taken to improve the take up of apprenticeships. f) Other training/skills development being undertaken by employees in relation to this contract, including: - Work experience placements for 14 to 16 year olds - Work experience / work trial placements for older ages - Student / sandwich gap year placements - Graduate placements - Vocational training - Basic skills training - On site training provision / facilities The Award Questionnaire also has a Community Benefits question where a number of themes have been identified by the Council as proportionate and relevant in relation to this contract for Bidders to submit information as to how they could assist the Council in furthering those identified Community Benefits (Q5 of Award Questionnaire) (SC Ref:841123)
