East Ayrshire Council awarded a contract for external fabric repairs and external works at Burns House Museum and Nanse Tinnock's, Mauchline, on Castle Street. The works cover repairs to slaterwork, leadwork and rainwater goods, decorating existing sash and case windows and external doors, stone repairs and re-pointing, repairs to boundary walls at both properties, and refurbishment of the existing courtyard including installation of a new canopy at Burns Monument. The contract was won by C-B-C Stone Restoration and Conservation Limited for EUR 221,569.12. The construction period is sixteen working weeks, with an anticipated start date of 01 April 2025.
