Summary

Machine-generated summary

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is carrying out market engagement with accommodation providers and partners to help shape future accommodation pathways for young people aged 16-18+. The engagement covers services that include accommodation in the contract, such as provision for care leavers, unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and young people moving towards adulthood and independence, and excludes home care services and property leases. The Council wants feedback on strengthening existing provision, developing new accommodation models and working more effectively with external providers to create sustainable pathways. Responses will inform future planning and commissioning decisions, although the consultation does not commit the Council to commissioning new provision.

Description

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking feedback from accommodation providers and partners to help inform the development of future accommodation pathways for young people aged 16-18+. East Riding of Yorkshire Council is trying to strengthen the pathway to independence and explore a range of sustainable accommodation options for young people aged 16-18+, including care leavers, Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) and young people who require accommodation as they transition towards adulthood and greater independence. As part of this work, we want to engage with providers and draw on your experience, expertise and understanding of the accommodation market to consider: • How existing provision could be strengthened; • What are the opportunities to develop new accommodation models; • How the Council might work more effectively with external providers and other partners to create sustainable accommodation pathways for young people. The Council wishes to understand market capacity, identify realistic opportunities and consider what future accommodation models could look like. The information gathered will be used alongside the views and experiences of young people and wider demand information to inform the development of accommodation options and future planning. This market engagement is only in relation to those services where there is accommodation as part of the contract, not in relation to home care or other services, nor is it in relation to the lease of property. Thank you for taking the time to contribute. Your experience and insight are valuable in helping us shape our understanding of the market and inform future accommodation planning and commissioning decisions. Please note that this consultation does not constitute a commitment by the Council to commission new provision. Any future commissioning activity would be subject to the appropriate approval, procurement and funding processes. We would be grateful if you could complete the survey using the link below by [date]. Thank you for your time and support.
