Summary

Machine-generated summary

ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG is conducting an informal market consultation under § 197 BVergG 2018 for the project 'Condition monitoring of railway steel bridges', to optimise project and tender documents and inform potential suppliers. From 2026 to 2030, ageing railway steel bridges are to be monitored to assess their condition and remaining service life. The system must suit multi-year permanent use, comply with railway standards such as EN 50121-4:2026 and protection class IP66, and use acoustic emission technology to detect early fatigue cracking, including cracks hidden under rivet heads. It must be self-powered, for example photovoltaic, send data by mobile network, and support statements on structural condition and remaining life forecasts. Sensors must be installable by a trained ÖBB worker, compact, light and robust. Procurement is provisionally planned for Q2 2026, with the first 5 of 10 measuring units delivered in Q3 2026 and the remaining 5 in Q1 of the following year.
