Renewal of track on the Bettembourg to Scheuerbusch railway line, Luxembourg

Rail track renewal works on Luxembourg's line 6a between Bettembourg and Esch-sur-Alzette, covering the section from Bettembourg to Scheuerbusch. The contract covers renewal of the two main running tracks over a length of about 4,000 metres, with modernisation of the various components, including installation of exotic hardwood sleepers and UIC60 rails. The main phase of the works takes place during a complete closure of the railway line from Saturday 28 March 2026 until Monday 13 April 2026 at 4:00. Preparatory work may begin two weeks before the closure period, and finishing work must be completed by the end of April 2026.
